Senior Chemical Process Engineer (207550) Oil/Gas, Refinery, Chemical, Pulp/Paper
TX-based Senior Process Engineer with over 20+ years of experience in the oil/gas refining, pulp and paper, and petrochemical industries. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron. He is highly skilled in the design and operation of most chemical/refinery process equipment including instrumentation and safety devices. He has extensive Process Safety experience. He is comfortable working individually or in a group on all aspects of project development from initial concept/screening through start-up. He has the experience to do it all. He is actively looking for a new opportunity. His history includes:
• Installed a new above-ground process sewer for environmental compliance. ($10M)
• Ethylene Compressor Wheel replacement and upgrade including new dry gas seals. ($3M)
• Control room consolidation to combine 2 existing control rooms into one. Most tie-ins are performed with the units still in operation. ($3M)
• Installed a new liquid ring compressor system to recover tank vapors in the tank farm area. ($2M)
• Paraxylene piping revamp and exchanger replacement for improved heat integration. ($2M)
• Participated in PSM studies for Witco (Gretna, LA), Citgo Refinery, and Cit-Con Lube Oil (Lake Charles, LA).
• Primary duties included verifying vessel sizing, providing detailed hydraulic analysis, marking up P&IDs, and providing a detailed heat and material balance.
• Also wrote DOT pipeline manual for Yellowhammer Gas Plant (Mobile Bay, Ala.).
• Gas Plants Group – Develop mitigation strategies for facility inadequacies determined by internal safety audits.
• Preparation of process design specification packages, member of the safe operating committee, lead and/or facilitate HAZOPs, review and approve plant MOCs (management of change documents) for facility or operational changes.
• Additional duties included accident investigation along with root cause analysis.
• Responsible for developing mitigation strategies and project specification packages for operating systems deemed to be “inadequately protected” from a pressure protection survey made of the plant.
