• I worked in my group’s System Upgrade Team.
• Learned how to replace a plant’s existing DCS system with the newest hardware and software,
• Set up and configure the many hardware and software products that we offer to our customers.
• Knowledge of Windows Server and Domain configuration, Cisco networking, Ovation DCS software, DCS controllers, I/O Modules, Power and Grounding requirements, and hardware assembly.
• Conducted the I/O checkout for new Ovation Upgrades.
• Developed a strong understanding of the different input and output signal types, power sourcing and shielding methods, wiring troubleshooting, and software I/O configuration.
• I began working on a PLC conversion project to DCS control for a Condenser Tube Cleaning System that was later followed by four other similar installations at other facilities.
• I was responsible for pump station control projects at our office, programming and installing the PLC, and establishing datalink communication between CW and DCS
• I developed the hardware BOM and drawings, I partitioned the hard- wired I/O database and module layout to meet process redundancy requirements, and I programmed control logic and HMI graphics using vendor manuals, diagrams, and sequence charts.
• During the commissioning phase, I executed the I/O Checkout, functional testing, and process controller tuning at the customer’s facility.
• I converted an old PLC code that controlled the coal reclaim system to Ovation control.
• Migrated a PLC-controlled Fly Ash system to Ovation and in parallel, I was developing the controls of a new Wastewater Treatment plant.
• Following the commissioning of the WWT system started the conversion work for a Water treatment facility from Allen-Bradley Controllogix to Emerson’s DCS control.
• I was responsible for conducting weekly meetings with the customer, responsible for the hardware, developing the controls, and later installation and commissioning.
• Managed multiple smaller projects as well as another controls upgrade project of an Auxiliary Boiler, replacing the Allen Bradley PLC with Emerson controllers.
