Quality Manager (223779) Extrusion, Casting, Forging, Machining, Heat Treat, Welding, Assembly, and Injection Molding operations / Houston, TX
Houston-based Quality Leader with a track record of developing, implementing, and executing quality and continuous improvement plans across all operations. He is a graduate of the University of Texas. He is adept at applying manufacturing best practices that improve inventory, reduce waste, increase employee performance, and decrease manufacturing costs. His broad process experience includes providing quality support for Extrusion, Casting, Forging, Machining, Heat Treat, Welding, Assembly and Injection Molding operations. He collaborates and strategies with senior leaders to meet customer service objectives, multi-point quality control inspections, and internal/external audits of plant operations.
He is currently employed as a Quality Manager but his current company is not living up to their agreements, so he is interested in confidentially exploring new opportunities in the Houston area. He has an impressive track record of improving processes, meeting quality standards, and reducing costs which make him desirable for any manufacturing operation! His notable experience includes:
• Restructured the tracking/data collection for the Non-Conforming product, Corrective Action log.
o This provided the data to reduce the scrap rate, from 34% to 6%.
o On time Delivery was improved from 77% to 87%
• Developed the In-House Calibration procedure, removing an annual cost of $2,600. Initial startup cost, i.e., gages and standards were only $790.
• Updated the Test Lab with 2 Hydro-Static pumps increasing the work capacity by 200%
• Manage the corrective action process to immediately respond to customer complaints, assign quality improvement tasks, and facilitate meetings with crossfunctional teams to review outcomes.
• Walk the manufacturing floor to complete process flow and quality assurance audits to ensure an effective push of work in progress and completed orders.
o After 6 weeks of trails and tribulations, we were able to update the processes, reduce downtime and reduce scrap to below 9% in the preceding 4 months while increasing production by almost 20%.
• Designed, audited, and implemented quality and process improvement plans to improve inventory, decrease controllable expenses, and increase customer satisfaction.
• Coordinated quality assurance testing across the plant to achieve quality metrics, daily production targets, industry-related certifications.
• Created manufacturing plans for new product developments to ensure the plant is sufficiently resourced to move forward with production.
• Develop, program, and test new CMM Programs, revise and enhance existing CMM Programs, PC-DMIS, FARO
• Test and “prove out” programs on the CMM equipment.
• Perform gage calibration and dimensional inspections as necessary.
