Metallurgist / Materials Engineer (223271) Masters Metallurgy, Bachelors Industrial Systems / Foundry, Injection Molding / Green Belt / Will Relo
- In charge of foundry casting sessions (aluminum, copper, and bronze alloys).
- Prepare metallographic samples, and conduct characterization testing directly, or submit samples for analysis (grinding, polishing, and etching).
- Polymer Lab maintenance and characterization projects, TPU/PCL/PLA blends, using DMA/FTIR/Instron, etc. for Mechanical Tests.
- Proven ability to prevent back orders, lead and execute GR&R and reworking processes, and follow strict protocols
- Led and executed different GR&R and reworking processes to ensure the quality of products met or exceeded specifications
- Worked to help resolve quality issues that affected product integrity.
- In charge of supplier raw materials projects involving plastic and metal molding, following FDA regulations.
- Led and executed Performance Qualification Protocols (PQ) for component validations (plastic and metal).
- Successfully reduced non-conformances related to component issues, plastic molding, and metal casting.
- Experience in execution of GR&R based on previous studies requiring GD&T and Minitab, drawing tolerances, and drawing interpretations
- Urgent projects from suppliers resulted in no downtime line in 2017 for lack of components due to tool down, and no backorders in 2018 for lack of components due to tool down.
- Received Peer to Peer Excellence award in 2018 and was promoted to a new position in 2016, 2017, and 2019.
- Trained in Six Sigma green belt (DMAIC) methodology, 5S’s, Kaizen, and production-oriented methodologies
