Mechanical I&C Engineer ( 243156) BSME, ASME, Photovoltaic Systems, Certified Distribution Design / Nuclear Controls, Power Controls, Solar Controls / PLCs, DCS, Power Plant / Will Relo
Atlanta-based Engineer with experience in Nuclear, Power Distribution, and Solar power operations. He has a Bachelors’s and Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has received several industry certifications in DIstribution Design and Solar Systems. He has worked for Enercon Services supporting Entergy’s Arkansas Nuclear One, and Georgia Power. He is not an I&C Engineer in title but he possesses many of the same skills and performs very similar Control Systems/PLC work!
He is skilled in multiple design software platforms and power system monitoring platforms. He has worked with control systems and multiple PLC platforms. This enthusiastic young engineer is currently employed but the company has been purchased and the management transition has created a caustic environment. He is very interested in exploring new opportunities. He is single, renting, and willing to relocate. He is smart, and articulate and is going to be a great addition to an engineering team! His notable experience includes:
- Broke ground for new projects using photovoltaic performance modeling tools such as PVsyst.
- Pioneered data scraping process for solar monitoring platforms such as AlsoEnergy, Solis, Wattch, and SolarEdge.
- Implemented ASTM E2939 and E2848 standards with Python for performance and capacity testing, ensuring sites meet emissions reduction criteria.
- Optimized operational processes using Python, reducing lead times from sixteen to two hours, and improving data accuracy by 40%.
- Troubleshot over 220 MW of assets, applying power systems engineering principles and enhancing field diagnostics with Python and data analysis techniques.
- Analyzed and processed over 500 GB of solar performance data, achieving a 30% reduction in processing time and a 75% decrease in billing errors.
- Analyzed SCADA, RTU, DCC, and DistView operations, ensuring functionality across the network, leading to a 30% enhancement in system reliability.
- Assessed and repaired over 100 Ethernet Modbus RTUs, configuring PLCs and ensuring 24 VDC operations for optimal data traffic, contributing to a 20% increase in system efficiency.
- Developed PLC protocols for SIEMENS, ABB, and Rockwell Automation, safeguarding grid assets and improving low-voltage air circuit breaker operations.
- Conducted electrical relay and metering diagram reviews for NEC code compliance, utilizing SQL for data analysis and documentation, ensuring project integrity.
- Programming data boxes. Current transformers. Temperature Sensors
- Responding to substation protection and controls and commissioning new substation equipment, performing routine
- testing and maintenance, and responding to trouble/outages in the southwest area of Metro Atlanta.
- Supporting Entergy plant at Arkansas One.
- Processed HVAC design modifications and hydraulic pump installations, enhancing project delivery by innovating with Pythonscripted data analysis for a 30% efficiency boost.
- Oversaw the installation of engineering change requests, ensuring adherence to nuclear plant control systems and contributing to the team’s project management and communication effectiveness.
